Our Catholic Philosophy-Faith is knowledge
Dr. Hayden Ramsay
Description :Dr. Hayden Ramsay discusses Faith as knowledge
Faith is knowledge

Although we can prove God's existence and some facts about him by reasoning and philosophy, the knowledge we get in this way is not sufficiently clear or complete to base our lives upon. The ideas which make a religion worth living (and dying) for - Trinity, Incarnation, Resurrection etc. - cannot be arrived at by reason alone. That's why we believe that at baptism a special gift called 'faith' is given by God to every Christian, & that it sustains those who believe in Christ throughout their lives.

Because Christians cherish the love Christ demonstrated for his friends, it's sometimes thought faith is simply experiencing loving feelings. In fact, faith is a sort of knowledge: it's not a feeling, an emotion or intuition, but a genuine knowing in which God enlightens our minds and teaches us some truths the world alone could not reveal to us. Of course, part of what we know through faith is the importance of love for God and others. But without knowledge of religious and moral doctrines underpinning our feelings they would risk becoming a danger to others - and to ourselves.
